Mission Statement

To provide conservation options to government in-situ conservation bodies to prevent extinction in the wild of Southeast Asian flagship species.

Method
Identification of problems in the wild and in captivity, breeding, sharing of information, training, education, awareness programmes.

Draft Action Plan
Conserve the environment and its wildlife
1. Identification of all government in-situ agencies.

2. Organising a meeting of relevant people concerned, including policy makers, to identify present and future conservation needs. (CBSG)

2.1 Meeting to formulate programmes on:

  1. Education
  2. Training
  3. Research
  4. Ecotourism
  5. Habitat
  6. Ecology
  7. Socio-economic
  8. Reintroduction
  9. Confiscated and unwanted animals
  10. Human and wildlife conflict
  11. Breeding management programmes (ex-situ and in-situ)

2.2 Once programmes have been agreed upon, an MOU to be signed between SEAZA and all the agencies involved.

  2. Selected SPP for conservation programmes
  3. What resources ex-situ can provide
  4. What resources in-situ can provide
  5. What ex-situ and in-situ requires
  6. Implementation schedule
3. Appoint a steering committee for every country involved.

4. Technical meetings are to follow.

- CBSG, PHVA, CAMP
- SSP, EEP, ASMP

5. Technical meeting to be organised by TAGS.
